On the Meditation Syllable

The meditation syllable used as a preliminary basis for concentration—buddho, arahaṁ or whatever—is something that eventually should be let go of. Once you see that the mind is firm, mindful, and ready to investigate, stop the repetition and fix your attention solely on the awareness of the knowing mind.
